About Shiraz
Culture, Food and Traditions
Shiraz refers to both a historic Iranian city known for poetry, gardens, and culture, and a full-bodied red wine made from the Syrah grape, popular in Australia and South Africa, known for peppery, fruity, and spicy notes, often paired with grilled meats and hearty dishes. While the city is an ancient Persian center, the wine's name stems from its historical association with Iran, even though the grape's true origin is France's Rhône Valley, with Australian Shiraz being particularly famous for its bold, fruit-driven style.
